PathFormer
PathFormer is an electrosurgical hand-held medical device that
cuts holes in nails and skin. It employs the mesoscissioning
technology, cutting the nail/skin with a microcutting tool,
using skin electrical impedance as a feedback for stopping the cutting
intervention to eliminate sensation.
Path Scientific has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and
Drug Administration (FDA) to market PathFormer for creating holes in nails for
relieving (and preventing) the pain of subungual hematoma (black toe).
